Sergeant Michael F. Vergon Jr. | USMC

Sergeant Vergon was born in South Bend, Indiana on 04 Dec 1979. Moved to Spring, Texas in the summer of 1985. He graduated Klein High School in 1998. He worked a wide variety of jobs for veterinarian technician to furniture sale until enlisting in the Marine Corps in May of 2005.

Sergeant Vergon attended School of Infantry West from September till November 2005. Upon completion he received orders to 3rd Bn 4th Marines Weapons Co 29 Palms, CA. He went to Division School in March 2006. Deployed to Iraq September of 2006 till May of 2007. After Returning from Iraq Sergeant Vergon trained and prepared again for deployment to Iraq. He was in Iraq February till September 2008. During both deployments Sergeant Vergon conducted vehicle and foot patrols as well as escort duties and participated in raids. In April of 2009 he transferred to 1st Bn 4th Marines Alpha Co. Camp Pendleton, CA. January of 2010 Sergeant Vergon enrolled in TSE (Tactical Site Exploitation). In July on 2011 he attended Raid Leaders Course. Then in October of 2013 he went to Coronado, CA for training with CRRC(Combat Rubber Raiding Craft) for raids. Deploying again in December of 2011 till June 2012 on the 31MEU. While on the 31MEU Sergeant Vergon trained on the island of Okinawa, Japan. Also while on the 31MEU he trained with Thai Marines in Thailand, Korean Marines in Korea, and Pilipino Marines in the Philippines. Active duty ended June 2014

Sergeant Vergon’s personal decorations include Good Conduct Medal 2nd, Navy Unit Commendation, Certificate of Commendation, and Combat Action Ribbon.
